Things you should know
Release Policy

The safety of our birds is important to us, therefore we have adopted the following principles to ensure that our birds arrive home safely:
All of our doves are banded for identification and each is raised and trained to return safely to their home. Because we love our doves and want to ensure their safe arrival back home after a release, we adhere to the following policy.
Our doves cannot be released when obvious dangers are present. Obstructions like trees, buildings, power lines, and predators are just a few things that need to be taken into consideration by an experienced handler before a release. We will discuss the release area with you in advance to ensure a safe return for the birds.
We only release well trained birds. Doves are not able to navigate at night. Therefore the release must be scheduled to allow adequate time to get home before dark, this is generally two hours before sunset. We can calculate the latest possible time from your event location, based on the date of your event.
We cannot release our doves indoors. We cannot release our doves in inclement weather, such as heavy fog or storms. We cannot ship birds by mail for self release.
We will check with all venues that releases are permitted before accepting your booking. A professional handler will be properly dressed for your event.
Our birds are fed special diet prior to release and it is very unlikely that they will foul on release but no responsibility will be taken for any damage to clothing or other affects.
Terms
Our service area covers approximately 20 miles from the doves loft in Poole. Locations outside of this range are subject to an additional charge
Weddings and Special Events
Booking your event well in advance will help to secure the date. Booking is on a first come first served basis. A non refundable deposit of 40% is required to hold a date and post your event on our calendar. Deposits are non-refundable, except where mentioned below. Payment is accepted in the form of a cheque or postal order, but these will have had to clear through the banking process to ensure a booking is confirmed. Payments can be accepted through PayPal (account not required), please email us for further details.
An invoice will be sent to you for the balance approximately 6 weeks in advance and the balance must be paid for prior to the event date. If payment is not made we will be unable to keep your booking and you will lose your deposit. If you cancel your booking with us more than one month before the event we will refund you in full. If a cancellation is within one month of the event then no refund will be given.
Delays past the scheduled release time are subject to a fee of £15 per hour. If for any reason your event is delayed on the day and we are unable to release the birds in time to return home safely we will refund 50% of the cost.
Agreement is subject to weather conditions allowing birds to arrive home safely. If we are unable to release the birds due to adverse weather conditions the birds will be available for your guests pleasure in display cages only and 50% of the cost will be refunded.
Payment is 100% refundable if we determine in advance of our departure that a release is not possible. If there are sudden weather conditions that prohibit a release after our arrival, will result in a refund of 50% for time and travel.
If your event is a wedding, we would like to liaise directly with the photographer to ensure the best time and place to release the birds to ensure you get that special photograph.
Travel fees may apply if the event is outside the 20 mile radius of the loft at a cost of 50 pence per mile.
Funeral and Memorial services
We recognise that funerals can take place at short notice and we will try our utmost to accommodate you. However, payment is to be made in full at time of booking. No deposit is required for funeral services.
